Dave Matthews Band was formed in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1991.They are often referred to as DMB. They are known for going on summer tours and playing each of their songs a little differently at each concert. Dave Matthews Band members are Carter Beauford on drums, Stefan Lessard on bass guitar, Jeff Coffin on saxophone, Boyd Tinsley on violin, Rashawn Ross on trumpet, and Dave Matthews as the lead guitarist and vocalist. Former members were LeRoi Moore on saxophone, Peter Grieser on keyboard, and Butch Taylor on keyboard. They also collaborate with Tim Reynolds. This happens to be my favorite band. I like them because each song they create is different from the last. I believe each person in the band is extremely talented at playing their instruments. They are entertaining to watch perform. Dave does little dances and makes funny faces. Carter is always smiling. Boyd, Shawna, and Jeff each have amazing solos at each concert. I enjoy their music styles very much. The music itself can be very catchy but the lyrics are true poetry. Each song has a real meaning behind it. Their song Don’t Drink the Water is about the British coming to America and taking over the Indians. Its very hard to pick a favorite song but if you asked me I’d probably say Ants Marching because its very upbeat and it makes me smile. You can hear some of their music at www.davematthewsband.com.
